Neuroscience
About Us
Our growing team of professionals in the Neuroscience Division at Saint Mary’s provides expertise, compassion, and support in the treatment of a broad array of neurological disorders.
We work closely with you and your family involving you in decisions and keeping you in the loop. As you deal with the effects of a neurological disorder and its treatment, you need to know what is happening, when, and why – and we’re always there to answer your questions.
Saint Mary’s has taken the lead in many areas of neurological care. Our Alzheimer’s and Memory Disorders Service, our Epilepsy Service and our Parkinson’s Service are the first of their kind in West Michigan.
A commitment to future excellence
In February of 2009, we opened the Hauenstein Center, a state-of-the-art medical facility that houses all of our neuroscience services under one roof. The Hauenstein Center provides a full array of neuroscience services in one convenient location
“We’re moving forward with the best talent, best equipment and best systems,” says Leanna Krukowski, clinical services director of neuroscience at Saint Mary’s. “We form cooperative efforts and interdisciplinary case management, disease management, and family management. They all complement each other.”
The Hauenstein Center provides a unified home for all services related to the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions and diseases including Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy/seizure disorders, stroke, migraine, depression, Alzheimer’s, spine disorders, and brain-related dysfunctions. It will be the only dedicated facility of its kind in Michigan and one of only a handful in the nation.
