Office Assistant

Assists in the clerical operation of the office, working independently on routine aspects. Types letters, reports, and other business correspondence. Other duties may include record management, basic bookkeeping, and word processing.

  • High School education equivalent.
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Some knowledge of business English and math.
  • Ability to type accurately.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to learn, perform and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
  • Ability to operate office machines and equipment.
  • Ability to learn and use coding and filing systems.
  • Ability to proofread material.
  • Ability to perform basic business calculations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers and the public.
