Operations Career Path
Material Handler
Receives, processes and delivers incoming orders and/or
pack and ship outgoing orders. Primarily process orders for
delivery, as well as load/deliver merchandise to department,
sales floor, or other designated location. In addition, the
incumbent will transfer materials from stockroom, warehouse
or other storage facility to ordering department and/or relocate
materials within storage facility, as assigned. This may require
the use of a hand truck, forklift, hoist, motorized conveyor
or other material handling equipment.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Physical ability to constantly bend, reach, climb, and
lift heavy objects of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate a van, pickup truck, forklift (propane
and electrical powered) and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to use scales, postage meters, UPS machines and
other similar machines.
- Must be customer focused and exhibit a positive and supportive
attitude.
- Adapt quickly to new techniques and work methods.
- Ability to communicate clearly; handles stressful situations
and solves problems.
- Ability to work varying hours.
